Summer Reads- Part 1- Mysteries

by Michele May 27th, 2010 | Fiction
A lazy day at the beach or the pool calls for a good book.  What works better than a mystery?  A little suspense and no longer are you sitting next to the pool keeping an eye on your children or just working on your tan at a crowded beach.  No, now you are involved in a world of suspense and intrigue.  If you're looking for a little adventure (without leaving the comfort of your towel or chaise), give these books a try.

Chuck Palahniuk, RiverRun Books, Portsmouth NH, May 4, 2010

by J Frazzetta May 11th, 2010 | Authors
Chuck Palahniuk knows how to get an audience to blow up.  Held at the South Church behind the bookstore, after uttering an expletive while at the podium addressing the crowd Chuck said, “Well, I just said [expletive] in a church, it’s not going to get any better.”  Known for Fight Club, Choke, Survivor and Invisible Monsters, this was the first night of his tour.

On tour promoting his newest book, Tell All, it could be considered this generation’s Valley of the Dolls for TMZ fanatics.  The book uses Hollywood as a backdrop; Chuck threw inflatable Oscar statues in the crowd.
