The House of the Seven Gables is one of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s most famous tales. Written in 1851, this is one of the best examples of an early American gothic novel. With the haunting descriptive prose that characterizes most of Hawthorne’s works, he weaves a gothic tale set in a house of seven gables.
