A Three Dog Life
Life is not a plotted course that is followed. Events occur, and plans that we make are changed. Such is the story in A Three Dog Life.

In this book, Abigail Thomas shares the story of her life and the changes that are inflicted upon it. Married to her husband Rich for 12 years, their “normal” life is cut short when he suffers a traumatic brain injury. Gone are the days of weeding the yard and eating omelets together. Now their life consists of visiting Rich at his assisted living facility and bringing him to the house that they used to share for his weekly afternoon visit.
Thomas expresses articulately how life changes when one’s partner is injured in such a manner. Rich’s life is frozen in time, sometimes able to recall names and places and at other times trapped in a different world. But for Abigail, life moves forward. New memories are created, changes occur.
If you are seeking a book that will make you appreciate all that you are given, A Three Dog Life is an excellent choice.
