Aside from showers and pranks, April also marks the celebration of Children’s Book Day (CBD) around the world. Celebrated on or around Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday on April 2 since 1967, the occasion is marked by activities organized by national sections of the International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY), which was founded in Zurich, Switzerland in 1953.
